Other Upcoming Events:
GIG is holding an Alzheimer’s event on March 28th starting at 1:30. The event will start with a brief introduction from the Alzheimer’s society, and then students will be broken into small groups where they will get a chance to interact with Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and to find out what it is like for an Alzheimer’s patient in the health care system. This event was held two years ago, and students found it very useful. It is free to students and snacks will be provided. Interested students should email LAS710@mail.usask.ca and should provide one question they would like to know about an Alzheimer’s patient. Spots will be given out on a first come, first served basis. We hope to see you there!
EHIG along with the Biology Club is hosting a Vermicomposting Workshop! Vermicomposting can reduce the amount of garbage you send to the landfill by 1/3! It uses worms to break down organic matter to produce high quality compost. This method of composting is great for people who live in apartments since you do not require a yard. At this worksop you will be provided with all the necessary materials (including worms!) and instructions to make your own vermicomposting bin. The workshop is March 29 from 5-7PM. The cost is $30/person. Please email ecohealthinterestgroup@gmail.com if you are interested or have any questions. Everyone is invited!
